I would like to duplicate my SIM card so I can keep one in the carphone and the other in my mobile for the same number/network (o2). Does anyone know if there is a product I can buy to do this.

You can do it using this, SimMaster.

Michael,

Does this product come with a sim card that you can copy to. I think it does as I've seen it on other European sites (one card that you can save up to 4 sim cards onto).

If not how do you duplicate the card? (i need my sim in the carphone and in my mobile).

Thanks

It will allow you to back the SIM card up to a file then copy it onto any sim that you wish.

You can buy a new one from phone shops, or see if your service provider can provide you with a new one.

Are you saying this device will let you make a working copy of any SIM.
ie I could take my VirginMobile SIM, use this gadget to copy onto a blank(?) SIM, then use the new SIM in my phone instead of the original and the number etc. would be the same

Regards,

Chris.

Hmm,
What then would happen if I put my original SIM in one phone, the copy in another and then tried to use them both at the same time...?

Although this sounds like chrismayers is being funny I would like to know the answer also... And another silly question.. Does a Blank Sim as mentioned above mean a new un-used pay as you go sim or is there a specific type of media that is completly fresh.

This kind of gadget usually copy 128 compliant SIM card, owever not every simcard is copiable...

If you got 2 Simcard swith on at the same time, only one will work..The one works is the last one switched on... For example if you have A switch on then 1 sec later, you switch on B..then B will be activated...Even both looks On but the latest one is the only one able to make and receive call...

The gadget usually comes with blank SIM...In 2003 one sim can store up to 12 different numbers. Well some come with turbo copier but please note, if you use turbo, once the reading fail, your card is GONE!

I am looking for a device which can copy two different operators SIM information into a single SIM. The idea of this is to use a single sim to switch between the network without physically changing the cards

The INEX Sim Master recomended through the link abovce is now discontinued. Can you suggest a suitable replacement to make backup sims..?

I have exactly the same issue: new BMW with built-in phone, which I want to use on my normal mobile number when driving. The guy who sold it to me just said to get a duplicate SIM, then switch off the normal mobile when in the car. However, O2 told me they can't (or won't) supply a second SIM on the same number. If they do issue a replacement SIM, they block the first one.

The SIM copying device mentioned elsehwere in this thread is no longer available.

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks,
Stuart

None of the suggested ideas will do what I and other members above want to achieve. I have a LM Technologies USB Sim Master and it does a fine job of copying your stored telephone numbers and SMS messages from one SIM to another but it does not, and cannot, creat a FULLY DUPLICATE SIM i.e. a twin with the same number.

I would like to have two SIMS with the same telephone number, one to remain permanently in my car phone which is built in and one to be used in my mobile. If anyone knows how this can be achieved please let me know.
